MY WORK
One button, a changing route
The challenge depends on turn timing, energy, and level geometry. Alongside the runner, I developed a narrative concept involving clues outside the game.
One-button flight
Space changes the direction of diagonal flight. The player times each turn and watches their energy: it drains during flight, and the character gradually turns red.
Color explains the rules
Red hazards send the player back to a checkpoint. White objects restore energy, while blue ones alter speed, flight angle, or camera distance. I used these consistent rules to build moving, rotating, and closing obstacles.
Learning in the menu
The main menu lets players fly, change direction, and collect objects before starting a level. It provides a safe space to learn the controls. I also tried perspective and orthographic cameras to find a useful balance of visibility and depth cues.
Narrative concept
The presentation outlines Eve’s fictional identity on social platforms and clues the game would lead players to. This part is presented as a narrative concept; the recording shows the student runner build.
